After a string of cinematic successes such as Spider-Man and X-Men, the comic company Marvel finally hit the wall with their dark vigilante anti-hero. Thomas Jane plays Frank Castle, the only survivor of a mob hit on his family. Vowing vengeance on those responsible, Castle puts on a black skull T-shirt and goes ‘a’ punishin’! Poorly directed action (apart from one fantastic fight with hitman ‘The Russian’), a boring script, annoying supporting characters, a horrendous score, and a complete lack of excitement, ‘The Punisher’ deserves capital punishment.
