SENTINEL, THE

THE SENTINEL

FOX

RELEASED 1 September 2006

sentinelLike an extended episode of '24' only with none of the style or tension, this is the worst film I've ever seen Michael Douglas or Kiefer Sutherland appear in. Douglas plays Pete Garrison, a secret service agent who is suspected of planning to assassinate the President. Going on the run, with Agent David Breckinridge (Sutherland) hot on his trail, Garrison must prove his innocence before it's too late. There's an awful plot, forgettably cheesy dialogue, awful cinematography, crazy plot holes, comedy villains, shoddy effects work, I could go on. In the first thirty minutes of the film virtually nothing happens, and what does follow is totally predictable and uneventful anyway. ‘Desperate Housewives’ Eva Longoria and Kim Basinger also pop up in thankless roles.
